30 Weeks

Dear Baby Present,

According to Dr. Van Houten, you are progressing nicely. So far, you've been a good baby, only making me raid the fridge one night. Despite this relapse and my affinity for ice cream, you are growing right on track (mommy is too). You're a very strong kicker and love to move around (and I mean move) between the hours of 7 and 10 p.m.. Will you be a night owl? For selfish reasons, I hope not. Maybe you'll take after your Dad and love to snooze. (Fingers crossed)

Your room is almost ready for you -- only minor touches left on the turtle/frog decor. We're so excited to have you see it! Your brother loves to dig around in your toys and your new giraffe, Sophie, is like a Cal magnet. I've told him it's yours, and he's put Sophie back, but he refuses to share his baby blankets with you. But, maybe you won't need swaddling for the first month since you're a summer baby? My guess is I'll have to purchase a blanket or two. I am holding off on unpacking the fleece newborn outfits and have bought some new items for September Baby P photo shoots....my favorite maternity leave activity!

You'll be excited to know that your brother is very excited you are coming. The other day in Target, he wanted to buy you a present. He had the perfect jump-around picked out for you, but when Mommy saw the price tag, she shut his dream down. Don't worry, I'll take him again to pick out something extra special for you. He knows your birthday is before his and he's excited to go to your party.
