Cal's New Room

When pregnant with Cal, we definitely spent time preparing his nursery for his arrival. With this baby, I feel like our energy has been still focused on Cal -- preparing his new room. For the past 4 months, we've been working on getting our guest bedroom/storage room ready as Cal's new home. From selling furniture, removing lighting, repairing the ceiling and installing a new fixture, to finding furniture and an elaborate paint job by Alan, it's taken some time but is finally finished! I don't know who is more proud - Cal to have his "big boy room" or me, for all the hard work Alan put into getting it ready. We went with a Mickey Mouse theme and Alan did an amazing job painting a fun mural (clouds, dragon flies, meadow) and then adhering character decals around the room. Cal has slept the last 2.5 weeks in the room and the transition has gone very smoothly. He only asked to sleep in "the baby's room" the 4th night and since then hasn't asked again, even after falling out of bed one morning. Yikes! Now, on to preparing Baby Present's nursery!
