Happy 5 Months Bennie!

Today you're: 15 lbs. 6 oz. (Exactly! I weighed you right before you had your shot this morning at Dr. T's)

Eating: At school, Ben consumes 3 bottles, or approximately 15 oz. a day. He'll then nurse 2-3 times at home. We recently started solids at dinner, and he is already a great eater, opening his mouth for the next bite, and loving sweet potatoes, peas and rice cereal. My frozen milk supply is officially out, so we might have to start supplementing next week.

Sleeping: During the day he takes 2-3 naps of about 45 minutes each. At night, he's ready for bed by 6:30 and will wake up 2-3 times, finally waking around 6 a.m. Perhaps thanks to getting meals at dinnertime, he's has two nights of sleeping from 6:30 - 2 a.m. or later. He still likes to sleep in his swing and on his back or side. Fingers crossed this behavior continues!

Activity: Ben is still not a fan of tummy time - immediately rolling over if placed on his stomach. He refuses to hold himself up with both arms, instead using his tummy muscles and back to arch instead. (A worry we'll discuss wiht Dr. T at our check-up). He can roll from tummy to back and from back to tummy. He'll do this and "scoot" around until he's facing something he wants to watch or touch.

Favorites: Cal. (Smiles and smiles when Cal is near, and wants to watch him) Sophie, his giraffe - a must to put into his mouth. Bath time! (He's recently started to splash) Swings. Talking (He loves to babble - in the car, in his crib, in general.) Grabbing his feet/toes.

Personality/General: His hair is growing in and getting longer. He is such a happy individual - laughing and smiling, even in the midst of tears; he can't stay upset for very long. He loves to kick and moves A LOT in his crib....possible foreshadowing of him liking to fall out of bed? While he's fine being held by virtually anyone, Ben tends to have "favorites" craning his neck to watch Mom or Dad. I was told this week, he's taken to his teacher, Miss Jessica, and seems to do the same when not being held by her. Ben is wearing size 6 mo. clothing. Eyes are lightening and still blue. No teeth.
